How to AI

Declining.

ChatGPT is declining. So now, I prefer using this instead:

ChatGPT is declining.

A 6% drop in web traffic from a peak of 203 million 7-day average visits, coinciding with Google’s Gemini 3 launch.

And Sam Altman calls a “code red”, explaining:

“We are at a critical time for ChatGPT.”

“We have more work to do to improve the day-to-day experience.”

Sam Altman, on an internal OpenAI memo, on Dec. 1st 2025.

And I feel the same way:

✦ I use ChatGPT less and less to write.

✦ I use ChatGPT less and less to search.

✦ I use ChatGPT less and less for images.

At the end of this newsletter, you will master:

  • The better-than-ChatGPT tool to write.

  • The better-than-ChatGPT tool to search.

  • The better-than-ChatGPT tool for images & videos.

  • My personal prompt library for each ChatGPT alternative.

The better-than-ChatGPT tool to write.

Claude, from Anthropic.

Their new 4.5-Opus model isn’t normal.

It’s really much, much better than before.

And I can tell from my own experience.

I gave it simple instructions, and it almost wrote an entire new blog:

Claude is better than ChatGPT at:

✦ Recreate a writing style.

✦ Understanding long context.

✦ Writing techniques & psychology.

The better-than-ChatGPT tool to search.

You won’t like this answer, but… Grok.

Grok is so, so goooood to search.

Better than ChatGPT. Better than Perplexity.

I discovered it by asking a question about something I knew.

I asked ChatGPT and Perplexity the following:

“What happened with the Coca-Cola AI ad?”

Neither of them understood the depth of the topic.

from Perplexity
from ChatGPT

But this is terrible journalism. This is not what truly happened.

I asked the same to Grok, and Grok actually knows what happened.

It can search the web properly:

ChatGPT and Perplexity stayed at surface levels, raging on “look, the 90 billion dollar company used AI!!!”. Grok is thinking a layer deeper, understanding the obvious intention (to ragebait us with semi-good AI).

How come?

It’s because Grok is directly connected to X (=Twitter). And X is the town hall of the internet, where everything happens first.

And Grok does not stop here. The team built an open-source alternative to Wikipedia called Grokipedia. Elon Musk calls Grok himself a “truth seeker”.

It wasn’t good enough 6 months ago.

It now became my go-to search tool.

The better-than-ChatGPT tool for media.

Yes, ChatGPT can make images and videos.

But it’s far from being the best at it.

Gemini—from Google—is (by far) the number 1.

Nano Banana Pro for images.

I think I’ve made enough articles for you to discover it:

  • My first vibecheck.

  • How to make infographics with Gemini.

  • Generate a professional headshot with Nano Banana.

At the end of this newsletter, I will share my latest prompt discoveries.

Veo-3.1 for videos.

It’s the (new) video model from Gemini.

I use Genspark to access every video model (without paying for 10+ subscriptions).

The best feature is called “First-to-Last Frame”.

  1. You select your first frame of the video.

  2. You select the last frame of the video.

  3. Veo imagines what’s between them.

It forces you to think in terms of a storyboard. And that’s the best way to combine control and quality with AI.

My personal prompt library for each.

I will first share my updated prompt library for ChatGPT, and then my favorite prompts for each alternative (Claude, Grok & Gemini):
